About Kohala Pono LLC

Most afternoons a windward shower comes over the ridge and moves through Hāwī without much warning, and by evening it has drifted off across the channel toward Haleakalā. What it leaves behind is that low gold light on the old plantation-era storefronts and a whole town standing an inch taller and greener than it was at noon. Kohala Pono builds the week around that rhythm — mowing once the ground has firmed, cutting the creeping grass back off sidewalk and curb, running the trimmer beneath the monkeypod and the mango where a deck will never fit, then raking the cuttings clear so nothing sours in the damp. The reward is a yard at dusk with a crisp line where the lawn stops and the walk begins, the kind of edge you notice from the road without knowing why. That is the work in Hāwī, Kapaʻau, Niuliʻi and Makapala, week after week.
