Walker Lawn Pros

About Walker Lawn Pros

Late October in downtown Woodstock, and the oaks above the old depot let go of a week's worth of leaves in one windy afternoon. Walker Lawn Pros works the season backward from that — mowing while the fescue still wants it, then leaf removal, then the fall cleanup that hands a yard over to winter tidy. Mowing, trimming, edging and blowing are the weekly bread of the job; the cleanups are how a Cherokee County property gets its shape back. The route runs from the brick streets near Main out to the long gravel drives toward Holly Springs and Canton. There is a particular satisfaction in the last sweep of the blower, when the walk is bare, the beds are clear, and all that's left behind is the smell of cut grass and leaf dust.
