Yard Geniuses

About Yard Geniuses

First warm week of March in Waleska and everything moves at once: pollen filming the trucks, dogwood breaking open, the fescue on the hills waking up hungry. Yard Geniuses meets that turn with spring cleanups and the season's opening cuts — mowing, edging the walks and drive back to a clean line, trimming tight along beds and posts, carrying off whatever winter left on the ground. Springs run wet in this part of Cherokee County, so the mowing starts sooner than folks expect and does not let up until the hardwoods drop. Getting that first cut timed right sets the tone for the entire year. A yard that starts sharp has a habit of staying that way.
