South of town the land drops toward the Altamaha, where mist lies in the bottoms until the sun clears the pines. Enviro South starts its Vidalia route in that early hour, mowing while the grass is cool and cuts clean. The work is the ordinary catalog done carefully — mowing, trimming around trees and posts, edging along concrete, and sweeping clippings and leaves off the pavement with the blower. Grass grows nearly all year in this warm, wet corner of Georgia, and staying with it week to week is what keeps a lawn looking deliberate.
