Lawn Patrol

About Lawn Patrol

A route is a promise: Tuesday means these streets, Thursday means those, and the yards along them get looked over whether or not anything has gone wrong. Lawn Patrol runs Valdosta that way, making the rounds through Lowndes County so growth never gets a head start on anybody. Each stop is the same short list — cut, edge, trim, clear — and the point is that it happens on time, every time, from the March green-up to the last mild weeks of fall. Grass in this climate is relentless, and the only real answer to relentless is regular. Rolling out of a neighborhood at the end of a circuit, with every lawn behind you level and every walk swept, is a good way to end an afternoon.
