North of Valdosta the streets thin out toward Hahira, the pecan limbs lean over the road, and the yards get generous — deep front lawns with room for a ditch line and a couple of oaks. G's Lawn Care runs those in-between places along with the town lots, cutting big open turf and then working the tight edges by hand where the mower cannot follow. The season here starts in March and does not really quit until the nights turn, so most of the year is mow, trim, edge, blow, repeat. Simple work has a standard anyway: no scalped high spots, no missed strip along the ditch, no clippings left in the road. A long country lawn finished right holds its lines for the whole week.
