By late May the fields around Unadilla have closed in green and the heat settles early, well before the gnats give up for the day. The Sod Source works right through it — mowing, edging, trimming and general upkeep on the centipede and bermuda that take to this sandy Middle Georgia ground. Turf down here wants to be cut on time and at the right height; find that rhythm and a lawn holds thick and even straight into October. There is real pleasure in a yard that keeps its color deep into fall, dense underfoot from one end to the other. Work runs through Unadilla and out to Vienna, Pinehurst, Montezuma and Hawkinsville.
