Rod's Lawn Service

About Rod's Lawn Service

Some Upson County yards are less yard than field with a house set on it — an acre and change, wide open to the sky, out past the airport road where the land flattens and the tree line goes distant. Rod's Lawn Service takes those on: long straight runs across the open ground, close trimming around posts and propane tanks and pecan trunks, the drive edged so the whole property reads finished. September grass comes on in surges after every rain, and simply keeping pace with it is most of the job. There is something plainly good about standing at the road afterward and looking back over an acre of even green. Then the trailer loads up and the next place is three miles on.
