Papa Turf

About Papa Turf

A front yard in late May is the last true commons a Georgia neighborhood has — bare feet, a sprinkler, a football arcing over somebody's driveway. Papa Turf keeps Stockbridge yards fit for that: mowed even, edged along the walk, trimmed around the swing set posts and the mailbox, blown clean so nobody tracks clippings inside. Cleanups clear the winter leavings and the storm drop so the grass has room to run. It is honest, weekly work with a plain measure of success — whether a family actually uses the lawn instead of just looking at it. Around here, with warm nights running from April to October, there is a lot of season to use.
