Head out Highway 67 toward Nevils and the town loosens into pines, pasture and long sandy drives that run a good while before they find a house. Andrew's Lawncare and more works that country as readily as the streets in town — mowing, edging, string trimming, hedges cut back, beds mulched, and the odd jobs a property turns up once you are already standing on it. Late May is the sweet spot around Statesboro: everything green and climbing, the mornings still cool enough to get real work done before noon. A big lot cut clean has a quiet grandeur to it, the lines running all the way out to the tree line. The "and more" is not filler here; it is most of the job.
