About 2 crazy landscapers

Dawn comes gently to Bulloch County — dew silvering the Bermuda, the light sliding low across the ground before the heat has any ideas about the day. That is the hour 2 crazy landscapers likes to start, mowers off the trailer, the first pass laid down straight. Statesboro yards grow fast and grow long here, from the first warm week of March until the pecans start dropping, and keeping up takes a certain cheerful stubbornness. They mow, edge, trim and blow down, tidy the beds, and haul off whatever the clippings and the wind leave behind. By the time the gnats find their afternoon, the yard is squared away and the truck is two streets over.
