Scientific Turf

About Scientific Turf

Grass in St. Marys grows on sand with the Floridan water table not far beneath it, and that single fact shapes almost everything a lawn does here. Scientific Turf reads a yard on those terms — mowing and edging, turf care, thinning shade, thatch and the bare patches that tell you what is happening underground. Centipede and St. Augustine each have their moods across a long coastal summer, and learning them is half the craft. The payoff comes weeks later, when a patchy lawn has knit itself back into one even sheet of green. Around St. Marys, Kingsland and Woodbine, that slow improvement is the job.
