Saturday morning in old Pooler sounds like a trailer gate dropping and a mower coughing awake a street over. The blocks off Rogers Street are older and shadier than the newer subdivisions, with grass that comes in patchy and wants somebody paying attention rather than a machine just rolling through. Brandon's lawn care LLC cuts, trims and edges those yards, then blows the walks clean before pulling out. There is a plain kind of pride in leaving a place looking better than the truck found it. That is most of the job, weekend after weekend, through Pooler and the streets nearby.
