67 Lawn Care

About 67 Lawn Care

Pembroke wakes early: truck lights on the highway before six, mist standing in the pine flatwoods, live oaks holding the last of the night's cool over the courthouse square. 67 Lawn Care is out in it, mowing and edging its way across Bryan County while the ground is still damp enough to smell. Coastal-plain sand grows a tough, low grass that rewards a clean pass and punishes a dull blade, so the work stays simple and exact — cut, edge, trim the fence lines, blow the walks and drive clear. By midmorning the heat has set in and the yards behind them look like someone drew them. Pembroke, Ellabell, Black Creek and Richmond Hill all sit on that route.
