Humanity Soil

About Humanity Soil

Down along Big Cotton Indian Creek the bottomland stays soft into March, and the grass there wakes before anywhere else in Morrow. Humanity Soil takes the long view of a lawn — that what shows on top is really a story about roots, water and the ground holding them. Mowing is timed so the blades come off high enough for the turf to shade itself, and trimming cleans the borders around beds, posts and trunks without scarring bark. Edges are cut where lawn meets concrete, so the boundary is a decision instead of an accident. The clippings are blown clear, and the yard is left standing a little taller than it was found.
