Winter is brief and gentle in the Red Hills country between Thomasville and Moultrie; the grass goes tan for a few weeks and then thinks better of it. Garcia And Sons uses that stretch for cleanups — leaves and pine straw off the turf, beds cleared out, edges recut along the walks while everything is still low. By the end of February the mowing has already begun again, and from there it runs steady through the long Meigs summer. Every visit ends with the corners trimmed and the drive and sidewalk blown clean. A yard that never quite goes untended is the easiest kind to keep beautiful.
