For about two weeks every March the Yoshino cherries turn Macon soft pink, and then the petals come down all at once and settle across every lawn in town. That is when GrassRoots Turf of Middle Georgia, LLC gets moving — clearing the drifts off the grass, opening the turf back up to the light, and setting the season's first true cut. Through the long green months that follow it is mowing on a rhythm, trimming close along beds and fence lines, and blowing clippings off concrete before anyone tracks them inside. Middle Georgia grass grows fast and forgives nothing, so the schedule is most of the trick. Come back the next week and the lines are still there, running straight from the street to the back fence.
