There's a week in March when Ila turns loose all at once — redbud along the fencerows, dogwood white back in the treeline, and every yard in the county deciding at the same moment that it's time to grow. GreenScenez Landscape Management meets that week head-on, clearing out winter's litter and laying down the first straight cut of the year. From there it's steady: weekly mowing, trimming around posts and mailboxes and outbuildings, edging the walks, and clearing the drives before moving on. Ila is a small place ringed by pasture and pine, and a well-kept lawn stands out clearly against all that green, which is exactly the point. By late summer the grass wants cutting twice as fast as anyone would like, and the pace holds anyway. Turning down a road and seeing a yard keep its lines is reason enough for the early start.
