There's a week in March when Ila turns loose all at once — redbud along the fencerows, dogwood white back in the treeline, and every yard in the county deciding at the same moment that it's time to grow. From there it's steady: weekly mowing, trimming around posts and mailboxes and outbuildings, edging the walks, and clearing the drives before moving on.
