The Lawn Wardens

About The Lawn Wardens

April dusk in Hinesville stretches out long — the pinewoods go blue at the edges, a mockingbird runs through its entire catalog, and the yards come back green almost overnight. The Lawn Wardens keep watch over that green: mowing on a steady rhythm, edging walks and driveways into clean lines, trimming close around fences, mailboxes and foundations, and carrying off the clippings and yard debris when the work is done. Warm nights and low sandy soil will push a lawn faster here than anyone expects, and the craft is in staying a step ahead of it, week after week. Come Saturday morning, a yard they have been through looks intentional — level, striped, edged so sharply the sidewalk seems wider than it was. That is the reward: one well-kept square of Liberty County, and then the next one.
