About YardTeck

October turns Griffin loose: pecan leaves come down in the yards off Hill Street, pine straw drifts into the beds, and fog lies over the water out toward Heads Creek before the sun gets up. YardTeck reads a lawn by what the season is asking of it — mowing while the grass still wants it, then leaf and straw cleanup as the canopy lets go. Spalding County's red clay grows a stubborn, generous turf, and keeping it cut evenly and trimmed back from the walks, the beds and the fence corners is what carries a yard from one year into the next. There is a particular pleasure in the last pass of the day, when the clippings are cleared and the lot lies open and level under a low autumn sun. Griffin yards are worth that kind of attention, and they show it.
