Mowing for Christ

About Mowing for Christ

On the west side of Griffin the steeples come up out of the treeline before the houses do, and the streets around them run about as quiet as anywhere in Spalding County. Mowing for Christ takes the work as service, with mowing, edging, string trimming, blowing walks and drives clean, hedge trimming and seasonal cleanups, done the same whether anyone is watching or not. A cut lawn is a small kindness left on somebody's front step. The Georgia growing season is long and generous, and the route runs the length of it, from the first spring flush to the last leaves down. Steady hands, plain work, a yard handed back better than it was found.
