About Walt's Landscaping & Lighting

Dusk comes slow to Fayette County, sliding gold down the loblollies and turning the red clay the color of a struck match. Walt's Landscaping & Lighting does its work in that hour and the ones before it: mowing lines laid straight across Bermuda and zoysia, edges cut clean where turf meets driveway, beds trimmed back to a definite line. Out past Starr's Mill, where Whitewater Creek slides over the dam and the pines hold the heat of the afternoon, a lawn is something you can read from the road. Storms build in from the west most summer weeks and hand the grass back green and unruly by Friday, which is a standing invitation. The reward is small and complete: the last pass blown clear, clippings swept off the walk, a yard that looks quiet on purpose.
