Bermuda in full August is a living thing: cut it Tuesday and by the weekend it has plans of its own. Mr. Turf reads Fayetteville lawns for what they actually are — bermuda and zoysia baking in the open, fescue hanging on under the water oaks — and cuts each one at the height that suits it. Mowing, edging, string trimming and clearing the hard surfaces are the standing work, week in and week out. Done on rotation, a lawn thickens up and the mower starts leaving those clean alternating lines that make a front yard look like a field before a game. That stripe is the whole point, and it only ever comes from consistency.
