West of town Carters Lake lies deep and cold between the hills, and the wind that comes off it in March still has winter in it. C-Scapes starts the season about then, when the grass wakes up ragged and every yard needs a first pass. Through the year the list stays short — cutting, trimming close, edging drives and walks — repeated until it becomes habit. Ellijay lawns rise and fall with the land, so the mower lines curve where the ground does. A yard cut right looks bigger than it is.
