About Chavez's Lawn Care & Tree Service

By one o'clock in August the heat sits flat on the valley and thunderheads pile up white over Rich Mountain. Chavez's Lawn Care & Tree Service reads that sky the way farmers do — mow the open lots first, save the shaded ones for after the rain passes. Mowing, trimming and edging through a north Georgia summer means the grass never quits, so neither do the routes. Clippings off the concrete, the drive swept, the gate latched behind them. Then the storm comes through and the whole county smells like wet clay and cut grass.
