The town took its name from the far end of a rail line — the eastern point of the road that ran down to West Point — and those tracks still cut through the middle of everything, past Main Street and the blocks that grew up around the depot. Tolerance Mowing and Landscaping LLC keeps the grass on those blocks and on the streets that climb away from them, straight passes across the flat front yards and short, patient ones where the ground rolls. October is the long stretch here: the last cuts of the year, then leaves coming off the oaks in waves to be blown, gathered and carried away. Cooler afternoons go to the landscape side of the work — beds edged and cleared, shrubs cut back, the ground set up to sit quiet until things wake again. Autumn light comes in low and gold over East Point, and a finished yard under it looks the way it was always meant to look.
