The Gold Line ends in Doraville, and the streets around the station keep a quieter timetable than the trains do. Emanuel Landscaping runs on that quieter clock: mowing, string trimming, edging along drives and walkways, clippings cleared so nothing is left behind but the smell of cut grass. Evening is the best hour to finish, when the light comes long and low across a lawn that was shaggy at noon. Spring and fall bring the bigger cleanups, beds cut back and yards emptied of leaves. It is ordinary work done carefully, and carefully is what shows.
