From forty feet up a loblolly pine, Decatur is mostly rooftop and green, with the Atlanta skyline standing off to the west like a far ridge. That is the office. Kat Climbers goes up on rope to reach what no bucket truck can — pruning, deadwood pulled out of the canopy, limbs lowered piece by piece over a fence or a shed, and the ground cleared afterward. Storms here take the weak wood first, so the job is as much about what comes out as what stays. Then boots back on grass: the lawn cut, the debris gone, the tree lighter and better balanced than it was that morning.
