By mid-morning the northbound traffic is already climbing toward Helen, and Mowing Men are headed the other way, out to the next yard on the route. The name says the work and the work is the name: mowing, string trimming, edging, and every walk and drive swept clear with the blower before they load up. North Georgia summers push grass hard, so the route runs tight and yards get cut before they get away from anybody. There is no mystery to it — a lawn kept even, week in and week out, in a town where people notice. The reward is a whole street of properties that look cared for.
