Wauka Mountain stands over Clermont, and by the middle of October the ridge has turned every color a hardwood knows how to turn. All that color ends up on the ground eventually, which is the busiest stretch of the year for Clermont Land and Tree. Leaves get pulled off the turf and out of the fence corners, the grass gets one more clean cut, and the beds and walks come back into view sharp-edged and clear. There is something worth being proud of in a yard raked down to green in November, the lawn set up to hold its ground until spring. They work Clermont and the roads around the mountain, on toward Murrayville and Cleveland.
