West Chickamauga Creek runs cool and slow past the old mill site, and in September the water carries the first of the leaves down out of the hills. Hartman's Lawn Service, Inc. tends the lawns above that creek and through the rest of Chickamauga — mowing, edging, trimming around fences and foundations, and clearing debris so a yard looks kept rather than merely cut. Late summer grass wants attention, and it repays it: mowed at the right height, it holds its color well past the fair-weather weeks. There's craft in knowing when to cut and how close, and the results speak from the road. A finished yard here sits quiet and green against the water and the hills behind it.
