American Lawn

About American Lawn

For an hour after sunrise the valley still lies in Lookout Mountain's shadow, and the grass holds its dew like it means to keep it. American Lawn starts the day there, in Chattanooga Valley, mowing and trimming and edging the yards that run up toward the mountain's foot. The order is simple: cut, edge, blow, move on. By the time the shadow slides off the last row of houses, a street's worth of lawns has been squared away and the smell of cut grass is doing the advertising. Fall brings leaf cleanup, spring brings the cut everyone has been waiting on since February, and in between it is the plain weekly rhythm that keeps a yard looking cared for.
