The Chamblee Rail Trail is quietest around seven in the morning — a jogger, a dog or two, the old rail bed running straight through the middle of town. Clean Air Lawn Care Atlanta starts its routes at about that hour, when a mower's first pass still leaves a dark stripe across the dew. Mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal yard cleanup, worked block by block through Chamblee's older streets. Yards here are shaded by pines and hemmed in with roots and fence corners, so much of it comes down to patient trimmer work. Done right, it barely looks like work at all — just a lawn that seems to keep itself.
