West of town the road drops toward Euharlee, where the covered bridge still stands over the creek and the late-October light comes through the sycamores yellow and low. Ferguson Landscaping keeps yards across that side of Cartersville and out through the Euharlee and Taylorsville stretch, mowing on rotation, edges cut in, the trimmer run along fence and foundation. Fall means leaves, a great many of them, carried off before they mat down wet and smother the grass by December. Beds get mulched, shrubs get shaped, and thin ground gets overseeded while the soil still holds summer warmth. Country yards or town yards, the finish is the same.
