Appalachian Landscape

About Appalachian Landscape

Pine Mountain stands over the south side of Cartersville, and from its trail the valley reads as a patchwork of roofs, treetops and green squares of grass. Appalachian Landscape tends those green squares at the foot of the ridge, where the ground rolls and no two yards lie flat the same way. Mowing a slope takes a different line, and so does edging a bed that follows the contour instead of a straight property boundary. The work covers cutting, trimming, bed shaping, mulch and seasonal cleanup, keeping foothill lots from slipping back into briar and pine seedling. On a clear October morning up here, with the hardwoods turning on the ridges running north and the air finally dry, the job feels like part of the view.
