North of town the Conasauga and the Coosawattee come together and hand Calhoun its river, and every October the hardwoods along both of them turn to rust and butter. Riverside Lawn Care and Design likes that season best — leaves off the turf, beds reshaped, the bones of a yard visible again once the growth slows down. The design part is never grand: a bed line that follows the slope, a border that finally makes sense of an awkward corner, then mowing and edging that hold the shape all year.
