Late May in downtown Calhoun: the crepe myrtles start their long show, the brick storefronts hold the day's heat past supper, and every lawn in town is growing faster than anyone can quite keep up with. That is the season Amazing lawn care lives for — weekly mowing, trimming around fences and mailboxes and old pecan trunks, edging the sidewalk back to its true line, blowing the clippings off the concrete. A yard cut on schedule never looks dramatic; it simply looks right, week after week, which is the harder trick. Around here a tidy front yard is a form of good manners toward the street. Calhoun gets a lot of that.
