Buckhead winters run mild and brief, but there are mornings when frost lies white in the low spots and the bermuda sits tan and sleeping until nearly March. Yard and Turf uses that stretch for the work the growing season crowds out — cleanups, leaves and debris hauled off the turf, edges re-cut along drives and walks while the ground is still. A dormant lawn deserves a line too; neat in January is what makes green in April look deliberate. When the first warm week arrives, the mowers go straight back to yards that are already clear. Being ready ahead of the season is its own small pleasure.
