Canny Cut

About Canny Cut

March comes to Buckhead as a rumor first — a green haze low in the bermuda, the red clay along the shoulder still cool at seven in the morning. Canny Cut works those first cuts of the year the way you'd tune an instrument, taking the winter tan off a lawn a little at a time until the color comes all the way up. Mowing, edging, trimming along the walks and fence lines, then the clippings cleared off the drive so the whole yard reads finished from the road. There is an honest pleasure in an edge cut against Georgia clay, that dark seam holding straight between grass and pavement. By the time the dogwoods open, the lawns on this route look like they were never asleep at all.
