Come October the fields out past Brooklet go white to the treeline, and Highway 80 carries the season into town on the backs of trailers. Denmark's Lawn & Landscape works the yards in between — mowing, edging, trimming around posts and fencelines, and blowing the drive down clean. Bulloch County grass takes the heat and keeps growing well after the fields have been picked, so the cutting season runs long on this end of Georgia. A lawn mowed on a cool fall morning holds its shape for days, and the smell of it carries the length of a quiet street. Brooklet is a small place, and a front yard kept even is something a whole road notices.
