A short drive from Bowersville the land gives way to the coves and pine points of Lake Hartwell, and on a June morning the air comes off that water cool for an hour before the day turns loose. Green Blade uses that hour, running the mowers early across Hart County yards while the grass is still holding dew and the light is flat and easy. Every lawn gets the same finish — an even cut, trimmed clean around the mailbox and the shed and the base of the pines, edged along the walk, blown off the drive. In a town this size the same trucks come back week after week, and the yards along the road start to look like a set. There is something plain and good about a stretch of grass cut right, with the lake haze still sitting in the trees behind it.
