Elysium's Lawn

About Elysium's Lawn

Late in the day, when the light comes sideways across the fields east of town toward the Apalachee bottoms, a freshly mown yard shows every stripe it has. Elysium's Lawn chases that hour — mowing in clean passes, edging the walk to a crisp line, trimming what the deck cannot reach, then blowing the drive clear. Fescue in the shade, Bermuda in the sun; each wants a different height, and getting that right is most of the work. Autumn brings the leaf hauls, when the oaks and sweetgums let go all at once and a yard can vanish under them inside a week. The reward is simple enough: a place that looks tended when the porch lights come on.
