Akers’ Lawn Care

About Akers’ Lawn Care

Some mornings the Flint lays a low fog through the bottoms east of Bainbridge, and it lifts about the time the first lawn is finished. Akers' Lawn Care starts in that grey hour, when dew still weighs the grass down and the town is mostly mockingbirds. Mowing, string trimming, edging, and hauling off what the blades leave behind — done in order, done all the way out to the fence corners. By noon the light is white and flat over Decatur County, and the yards behind the truck look like somebody meant them. Spring through fall the cycle repeats; in the cool months it turns to leaves and keeping a dormant lawn in order.
