Cuco's lawncare

About Cuco's lawncare

October in Sumter County smells like pecan hulls and diesel, the groves shaking down their crop while the Bermuda finally slows and turns tawny. Cuco's lawncare runs its Americus routes right through that turn of the year — last mows, edging, leaves and limbs cleared, pine straw laid fresh in the beds before the first frost. The trucks roll early, when fog is still sitting on the fields off toward Leslie and the day hasn't decided how hot it will get. Work like this gets measured in straight lines and square corners, and it reads from the road. When the yard is finished the yard goes quiet, and that is the whole idea.
