Alamo keeps company with the Little Ocmulgee, a slow blackwater river running under cypress just north of town, and Wheeler County's pine timber closes in around most everything else. Alamo Lawn Care and Landscaping works the open ground in between — mowing, trimming, edging along walks and drives, seasonal cleanups that pull pine straw and leaf litter back out of the beds. Grass here grows through a long, humid season and slows only briefly, so the calendar matters more than the calendar's excuses. The good part is the after: passes straight, corners closed, nothing left sitting on the concrete. Alamo and the river towns nearby are all inside an easy drive.
