Polk Lawn

About Polk Lawn

Polk County still smells like citrus in January, when the fruit comes off the groves ringing Winter Haven and the air over the rows goes sweet and cold after dark. Polk Lawn works the yards between those groves — mowing on the winter's slower turn, edging walks and drives, trimming around posts and palms, and carrying the cuttings away. Turf here goes half-dormant and tan for a stretch, and the craft is keeping it tidy without scalping it while it rests. Then February turns and the whole county greens at once, and the schedule picks right back up. Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Eagle Lake and Lake Wales.
