Prairie Sand

About Prairie Sand

Scratch a Williston lawn and you find sand — the old sandhill country that runs south into the longleaf pine and wiregrass of Goethe State Forest. Prairie Sand knows what that ground does to grass, how it drains fast and greens up in bursts after rain. The work is weekly and physical: mowing, edging, trimming out the corners, shrubs kept tight, clippings cleared. On a late-winter afternoon, with the pines standing still and the light low, a freshly cut yard has a kind of order to it. Prairie Sand serves Williston and the surrounding area.
