Mow-Now

About Mow-Now

Tuesday, mid-morning, Okeechobee Boulevard already loud with traffic heading toward the bridges — that is the shape of a Mow-Now day. The name says the promise plainly: the grass is up, the mower comes, and the yard is back under control before the week gets away from anybody. Downtown lots are tight and the trailer parks where it can, so the crew works quickly and cleanly, cutting, trimming the corners, edging the walk, blowing the drive off before rolling on. In the rainy stretch the grass can gain a hand's width in a few days, and getting there fast is half the craft. A same-week cut on a lawn that had gotten shaggy is a small piece of order handed back to somebody, and it looks like it.
