Mitchell Taylor Lawn

About Mitchell Taylor Lawn

Saturday morning in El Cid smells like night-blooming jasmine that has not quite given up yet, and the brick streets stay quiet until the mowers start. Mitchell Taylor Lawn moves through these older blocks with their deep-set lawns and hedges grown tall enough to make hallways of the sidewalks. The cutting is careful around coral rock borders and roots that ride up under the turf, and the edge along a brick apron has to be drawn by hand to look right. Come back a week later and the yard should look the same as when you left it — that is the standard. There is a quiet pleasure in a shorn, level lawn under an old oak, with the blower run to the last leaf and nothing left on the street.
