The Neighbors Choice

About The Neighbors Choice

Morning comes early to the bend of the Hillsborough, where the river wraps Temple Terrace in a slow green curve and the mist lifts off the water before the heat does. The Neighbors Choice starts the day out there, on lawns still beaded with dew under the live oaks, mowing in even parallel lines that hold their shape all week. Edges are cut sharp along the walks and the tile-roofed drives, the string trimmer goes around mailbox posts and the base of every palm, and the clippings get blown back onto the grass where they belong. Hedges are shaped so the front windows keep their light, and the yard debris leaves with the truck instead of sitting at the curb. By the time the sun stands high over the oaks, the whole street reads like somebody looks after it.
